Country music artists Kacey Musgraves and Ruston Kelly have sadly announced their split after 2 years of marriage.
“With heavy but hopeful hearts we wanted to put our own thoughts into the air about what’s happening. The love we have for each other goes far beyond the relationship we’ve shared as husband and wife. It’s a soul connection that can never be erased,” they said in a joint statement.
“We’ve made this painful decision together — a healthy decision that comes after a very long period of trying the best we can. It simply just didn’t work. Though we are parting ways in marriage, we will remain true friends for the rest of our lives. We hold no blame, anger, or contempt for each other," the statement continued.
Split rumors arose after both Kacey and Ruston deleted all traces of each other from their social media pages several months ago. Ruston famously inspired Kacey's Grammy-winning album, Golden Hour. "I love my husband so much," Kacey said while accepting the Grammy for Album of the Year in 2019.
The two proved that they're still on good terms with a simple Twitter exchange on July 18, where Kacey supported Ruston's new song.
Kacey has become more vocal on Instagram lately, posting gorgeous pics of her new hair color, and also a pic of her crying glittery tears, which many perceived to be about Ruston.
While the split may be heartbreaking, we're glad they're still on good terms.
