If you're anything like us, there's a good chance snaps of The Weeknd in full-face bandages have already hijacked your Instagram feed; Well, the star's, um, questionable AMA look isn't the only noteworthy thing you missed last night.

Hang on while we break it down for you.

For starters, the November 22 event, hosted by Taraji P. Henson, was like no other American Awards Show done before. Yep, for those lucky enough to have landed a spot in that small Microsoft Theater crowd, they stayed safe in style, sporting fashionable face-masks. (Welcome to 2020).

As for the good stuff? Well, the people have officially spoken, and the verdict is in: Here's who walked home a winner last night. For our first champ, we'd like to give a huge congrats to Miss Americana, who officially breaks the record of most AMA wins - 32, btw - with her win of Artist of the Year.

Of course, we also can't help but mention The Biebs and Doja Cat, who won Favorite Male Artist and New Artist of the Year, respectively. We're sure Cardi B was also a happy lady last night, as she and Megan Thee Stallion landed the Favorite Hip Hop/Rap song with WAP. Okurrrr.

As for the performances? Let's just say Justin Bieber and Shawn Mendes' first-ever cover of their new single Monster left us with goosebumps. Then again, so did J. Lo and Maluma, who took to the stage with their latest collabs, Pa' Ti and Lonely.

But perhaps it was The Weeknd's cover of In Your Eyes and Save Your Tears that left us doing a double-take. Yes, he was wearing a full-face of bandages. No, he wasn't actually injured. That's right, you can breathe now: His bruised nose was actually part of the promotion for his latest album After Hours.

Remember when he said he couldn't feel his face when he was with you? Yep, suddenly it's all adding up. On that note, be sure to stay tuned come February, when we watch the Heartless heartthrob swap AMA stages for Superbowl Half-Time shows. If you thought this was noteworthy? Something tells us we haven't seen anything yet.
