Are you tired of your favorite shade smudging or feathering? Well, worry no more! We've got you covered with some fantastic tips and tricks from celebrity makeup artists.

As Audrey Hepburn once said, "On a bad day, there's always lipstick." And we agree. A swipe of lipstick can change your attitude and boost your confidence, just like slipping into a pair of sky-high heels. But with so many different formulas out there, it can be tricky to figure out which one works best for you. That's why we asked five makeup artists to share their tips and tricks. First things first: creating the right foundation is key. Donni Davy, the head makeup artist for Euphoria, recommends using a lip liner to fill in your lips and lay down a nice base of color. Sofia Schwarzkopf-Tilbury, who does glam for Salma Hayek and Lily James, suggests grabbing an eyeshadow brush or using your fingertips to create a soft, blurred finish along the lip line.

Prepping your lips is also essential for smooth lipstick application. Jocelyn Biga, the makeup artist for Nicole Scherzinger and Tia Mowry, swears by MAC Cosmetics' Lip Scrubtious to remove any dead skin. Sebastien Tardif, the founder of Veil Cosmetics, recommends powdering your lips after applying lipstick to prevent bleeding and keep the color looking intense. And if you're dealing with smudged or feathered lipstick, no worries! Alexx Mayo, Lizzo's makeup artist, recommends dipping a Q-tip in oil-free makeup remover and blotting the affected area. Donni suggests using a small flat concealer brush to apply a little concealer to soften out the smudge or crisp up the lip line.

Finally, when it comes to finding the right lipstick formula, consider what look you're going for. Sofia recommends Charlotte Tilbury's Matte Revolution texture for a femme fatale vibe, while Jocelyn suggests going for a liquid matte lipstick for a long-lasting, transfer-proof option. So there you have it, lipstick lovers! With these tips and tricks in mind, you'll be a pro at applying lipstick in no time. As Audrey Hepburn said, "There is a shade of red for every woman." Find yours and rock it with confidence!
