It seems like out of nowhere, models and influencers have been showcasing their bleached brows. Whether it be for work, like models Amelia Grey and Bella Hadid, or for fun, like Julia Fox, this viral beauty trend is everywhere! And believe it to not - people are loving the effect it gives the face. So here's how you, too, can get in on the fun!

Makeup artist Isamaya Ffrench explained, “You don’t realize the impact of brows on a face until you’ve gotten rid of them,” she explained. “Eyebrows express a lot of emotions and therefore articulate a lot from someone’s personality.” Ffrench noted how this makeup trick can technically help you shapeshift since the eyebrows are a major aspect of the face. “It creates a blank canvas, and I think most people like that little thrill of feeling like you can be a different person.”

For those on the fence about trying out the trend, you can always use concealer to cover up the brow to give yourself a similar effect. "From a makeup perspective, erasing eyebrows, whether that's done with concealers or full bleach process, is a great way to open up the area around the eyes, which allows for much more freedom in terms of makeup possibilities," the MAU said. But for those eager to go all out, Ffrench recommends either going to a professional or asking a friend who is familiar with the bleaching process. Or, if that's not an option, do it yourself at home! Here's how.

You should also be very careful with any bleaching product and always follow the instructions to avoid any irritation or damage to your brows. Before applying the bleach, use vaseline on the hairs to protect the skin surrounding it. “After mixing hair bleach powder with cream developer, take a mascara wand to coat hairs thoroughly from root to tip, using the leftover cream to cover the brows completely until you can’t see them anymore,” said Ffrench. “Cover with a little piece of film or aluminum, so it doesn’t dry out. It’s normal if it feels warm and tingly, but if you feel like something isn’t right, wipe it off and rinse. Wait for about 10 minutes and check them every three minutes after that until the color is completely gone.” Lastly, wash it off with shampoo, and voila, you now have the bleached brow look! (Psst, check out this other trend your favorite models are giving a try!)
