After much speculation about the guest list, Addison Rae and Dixie D'Amelio were two of the influencers who attended the 2021 Met Gala. And while we thought the He's All That star crushed her first appearance at the annual event, some were not so supportive of Addison's look. And Dixie faced some criticism, too...
The internet's reaction to the young influencers was harsh, to say the least. Many Met Gala favorites, including Zendaya and Harry Styles, were missing from the event's red carpet this year. And it seems like some of the newer guests might've borne the brunt of fans' frustrations over the guest list. Addison Rae and Dixie D'Amelio sure faced some harsh comments.
Addison and Dixie already faced backlash before the event even happened, and it only intensified after the highly-anticipated night. The internet scrutinized Rae, D'Amelio, and other top influencers for even being on the rumored Met Gala guest list for weeks prior to the event. And once those rumors proved true, and the ladies attended, their outfit choices faced the wrath of the internet.
Some red carpet fanatics were more than disappointed by Addison and Dixie's apparel. Fans on social media called their looks "basic" and teased that Addison's Met Gala look was an old holiday dress from bestie Kourtney Kardashian's closet. Dixie was also roasted, with one user tweeting out, "It's officially dixie and addison's last met gala..." alongside pictures of the two.

But despite backlash from fans, it's safe to say that both the TikTokers enjoyed their experiences attending the big night. Dixie and Addison shared their excitement with fans via Insta Stories, and Rae even said that going to the Met Gala was one of her goals from her 2021-2022 dream journal. We love to see some red carpet dreams come true!
