Ally Brooke Opens Up About Her "Toxic" Experience Being in Fifth Harmony

When a 19-year-old Ally Brooke joined four other girls on their journey to Hollywood, she had no idea the madness it'd eventually call for. Sure enough, after forming Fifth Harmony, the singer was morphed into a global pop star. But that doesn't mean it was easy.

On Wednesday, May 12, the former girl band member sat down to give us an inside look at her time in the spotlight. And we should warn you, the tea she spilled was piping: "I hate saying this: My time in Fifth Harmony, I didn't enjoy it. I didn't love it," Ally confessed.

As the artist put it, there was so much more going on behind closed doors than we may have realized. "So much toxicity, so much abuse - mental abuse, verbal abuse," Brooke explained. Unfortunately, though, that wasn't even where her trauma ended. According to Ally, there was also a lot of inappropriate behavior. "Talking to me a certain way, making me feel uncomfortable, making me feel inferior, and knowing that they could," the artist revealed of former label executives.

But while the star may have struggled during her time as a worldly sensation, she was still on top of the world. As a matter of fact, she'll be the first to tell you that much: "We took over the world. We took the music industry and the entertainment industry by storm," Brooke gushed of the former group.

"I'm going to say how proud I am of Fifth Harmony... of what we did," Brooke proudly continued. We couldn't agree more, sis. Unfortunately, her time as 1/5 of an unstoppable girl group ultimately came to an end back in 2016, when Camila Cabello decided to pursue a solo career (remember that?).

Safe to say, from X-Factor to alleged catfights to everything in between, Fifth Harmony took us on one whirlwind of a ride. And while they may no longer be together, (tragic, we know,) we've got a feeling this is just the beginning for Ally...
