Ariana Grande is blonde! Ahead of the Tony-winning Broadway musical, Wicked, the artist just revealed her new look. As she and her castmates prepare to enter the Land of Oz, Grande has already set the mark for the film's debut...
The Sweetener singer has undergone many hair changes since she started her television appearances. Though she is originally a natural brunette, Grande is no stranger to the world of transformations. Throughout her time on Nickelodeon, Grande spent her time dying her hair red every other week to maintain Cat Valentine's aesthetic. The vibrant hair was her staple look for a while, especially as she ventured onto Sam & Cat after Victorious came to an end. After filming, it was time to return to her roots, and she even spent time rocking a subtle blonde/brunette balayage over her performing years. She even tried a number of hairstyles, predominantly her iconic high ponytail. With not a hair out of place, the hairstyle seemed to be strapped into her head. However, her most recent change has caught our attention like never before.
Grande's ever-lasting locks have made a massive breakthrough. The 26-year-old is channeling her inner Glinda, preparing intensely for her up-and-coming role in the movie adaptation of Wicked: The Musical. The Nickelodeon alumn posted a picture of her new blonde bombshell look to Instagram, humorously captioning the photo, "new earings." The singer felt it was only right to incorporate her old ponytail style with her new look. Fans immediately went crazy over her new do, while one close friend even pointed out, "Blonde Ari is back." Others joked with the R.E.M Beauty creator, pointing out her beautiful earrings. Nevertheless, everyone was fanning over Grande's grand Glinda entrance. Although she has previously posted sneak-peak pics of rehearsals with co-star Cynthia Erivo, who will be playing Elphaba, this is the first time we are seeing Grande enter her Glinda era. Since the 7 Rings singer confirmed her role in the movie, teasers have been highly anticipated by fans. According to People, Grande says she has put major efforts into the film. She said in an exclusive YouTube video, "I'm spending all of my time with Glinda," instead of working on new music. Still, no one is complaining.
Safe to say, everyone is obsessing over Grande's new 'do. It is right to believe hair change highly symbolizes a shift in character, and it has never applied more than in this situation. The singer has had an incredible support system in preparation and was even spotted with her team in London for filming. Look out, Oz, there's a new Glinda in town - and we can't wait to see her sing her heart out for the role she was destined to play!
