From her vulnerable lyrics to her authentic interviews, Billie Eilish is the definition of "honesty is the best policy" and has built a huge fan base of loyal fans (aside from her musical talents, of course) because she's never afraid to keep it real. And she's kept the same approach when discussing her experience with Tourette syndrome, which she was diagnosed with at the age of 11.

For those who need a little background, Tourette syndrome is a condition where people experience "repetitive movements or unwanted sounds (tics) that can't easily be controlled," according to the Mayo Clinic. Billie has been open with her diagnosis in the past, but used her recent appearance on David Letterman's My Next Guest Needs No Introduction to get real with her host, especially after the camera caught one of her tics in action. "If you film me for long enough, you're gonna see lots of tics," the 20-year-old music star explained. She then dove into sharing her experience with dealing with her tics in public - and how people sometimes react in a less-than-ideal way...

"The most common way that people react is they laugh because they think I'm trying to be funny... and I'm always left incredibly offended by that," Eilish confessed. Despite the public stigma facing her condition, the Happier Than Ever singer remains "very happy talking about it," especially because she has more questions than answers. "It's very, very interesting, and I am incredibly confused by it," she confessed. "I don't get it." For instance, while performing, Billie shared she doesn't experience tics, and some of them have changed and gone away over time. "These are things you would never notice if you're just having a conversation with me," Billie told David. "But for me, they're very exhausting."
