Cameron Diaz has been out of the Hollywood spotlight for eight years and is now making a debut return. After taking a long-needed break, she felt prepared to return to the big screen, only this time, she has expressed her feelings towards the industry. Here's what we know.

Cameron Diaz has had her fair share of acting roles, from the 1994 production of The Mask, flying high with Charlies Angels in 2000, to her most recent 2019 role in Untouchable. Still, there are too many films to count to value Diaz's comedic, romantic, and action-packed action skills. Not to mention her four nominations for Golden Globe and BAFTA awards. She was even the highest-paid over-40 actress in Hollywood in 2013. Now, she is literally Back in Action. On September 16th, Diaz appeared as a guest on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and reflected on what it's like to return to set, rehearse lines, and prepare for rolling. It seems falling back into character was easier than she thought.

Diaz has been working alongside Jamie Foxx on their new film, Back in Action. She started lightly, explaining how she was "both nervous and excited about getting back in front of the camera." Like riding a bike or diving into the deep end, Diaz compared her comeback to a "little bit of muscle memory, you know what I mean?" She proceeded, "I did that for so long, it's kind of like the process, I kind of just fell back into it. But it feels a little bit different." Ironically, the last film she starred in was the 2014 remake of Annie, where she also worked with Jamie Foxx. So, returning with a familiar face for support was surely comforting. She commended Foxx for his calming force around the set, praising him for being "so professional, so talents, and just being able to work with him." Nothing like great chemistry on and off set. Although, it took Foxx a lot of "old-fashioned begging" to get Diaz back to work. While she was too busy getting married and having children with Benji Madden, it was times like these when she decided she "wanted different things" out of her life. Thankfully, she had her good friend Gwyneth Paltrow to back her up on this claim, expressing the "peace" they both felt when they finally decided to take care of themselves out of the spotlight.

So, although we would rather have a Princess Fiona or an Amanda Woods comeback story, a Foxx Diaz combination should do just the trick. We are so excited to see Diaz back on our screens. After all, she has come a long way, and 50 will be her year!
