From Nicki Minaj To Jeffree Star: 29+ Celebs Who Literally Couldn't Stand Each Other
| LAST UPDATE 02/21/2023
It's no secret that Hollywood's full of drama, and many of your favorite stars have been involved in some pretty scandalous beef over the years. Here are some of the most dramatic celeb feuds in history.
Jamie Lynn & Britney Spears
Who would've thought the two famous sisters would end up complete strangers? Britney went viral about how she feels about younger sister, Jamie Lynn. The singer wrote on Instagram, "My so-called support system hurt me deeply," and unfollowed Jamie until she commented, "Britney — Just call me… like sisters should."
Unfortunately, it only got worse after Jamie Lynn dropped a memoir, and the pop star wrote a cease and desist letter, calling her "scum" over Instagram. It is unknown where the two stand today as the Zoey 101 alum was absent from her older sister's wedding while Britney seemed to reach out to Jamie online. Time will tell!
Quavo & Offset
Quavo & Offset of Migos are not just music collaborators but are also cousins! We could say the rap talent runs in the family blood, but they also say you should never mix business with family. Well, that was up to them to find out for themselves. It all started when Quavo and the laet Takeoff released a duo mix in 2022.
While Offset was missing from the track, him and wife, Cardi B, unfollowed Quavo and Takeoff on Instagram. In an exclusive interview, Quavo said, "We stand on loyalty, real deal loyalty, and sometimes that s--- ain't displayed." While they were reported tussling at the Grammy's backstage, Offset was excluded from Takeoff's tribute in 2022.
Prince William & Prince Harry
May the best Prince win. The royal fued is no secret, and has been going on for a while. Not only have the brothers' altercations gone public, but the fuel was added to the fire when one decided to be more open than the other. While Prince William tends to avoid answering questions, Harry went on to create Netflix documentaries.
Harry revealed more in his memoir, Spare. A heated discussion about Meghan Markle caused William to pushing Harry, who later confessed to ITV, "I would like to get my father back, I would like to have my brother back. They've shown absolutely no willingness to reconcile." Guess there's no protocol for getting the family back together.
Francia Raisa & Selena Gomez
Friendships like these are so rare, especially when they call for donating an entire kidney. But that's what Francia Raisa did for long-term pal Selena Gomez when her Lupus condition became worse in 2017. Unfortunately, Gomez might have slipped up when she forgot to give her a major shout-out.
In Selena's 2022 documentary, My Mind & Me, she expressed, "My only friend in the industry really is Taylor [Swift]." That one must have hurt after 10+ years of friendship. When the clip went viral, users questioned her motive to which she responded, "Sorry I didn't mention every person I know." We could cut the tension with a knife.
Will Smith & Chris Rock
This Oscars slap went viral worldwide. We all saw it, and over again a hundred times. We couldn't comprehend how the situation became so heated in the blink of an eye, but before we knew it, Smith was up on stage with his hand hot and ready for a major slap. In exclusive clips, Will Smith was seen laughing before things turned sour.
Chris Rock, the host of The Oscars in 2022, made a G.I. Jane joke aimed at Jada Pinkett-Smith regarding her alopecia. After the slap, Smith won an award which he used to make an apology. P-Diddy then told press, "That's not a problem. That's over. I can confirm that." Now Smith is banned, there won't be any more slaps in the foreseeable.
Kanye West & Pete Davidson
If there's one person we wouldn't like to get on the wrong side of, it's Mr. Kanye West. Although, this doesn't seem to affect Pete Davidson, this guy has more than nine lives. Still, he went through some brutal exchanges with the rapper after becoming romantically involved with his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, publicly in November 2021.
While Davidson used his humor as an excuse to joke about the Stronger rapper on SNL in 2018, Kanye didn't exactly take this well. Kanye then wrote in Eazy, "God saved me from that crash/Just so I can beat Pete Davidson's a-- (who?)." Unfortunately, Yeezy fans went full force which resulted in Davidson deactivating his Instagram account!
Olivia Wilde & the Don't Worry Darling Cast
Having a feud with one or two acquaintances is one thing, but a whole cast? While director Olivia Wilde replaced lead Shia LaBeouf with then-flame Harry Styles, LaBeouf responded to the claims saying, "I am a little confused about the narrative that I was fired, however. You and I both know the reasons for my exit."
While Styles and Wilde blossomed on set, things started to escalate. During the film's press run, the female lead Florence Pugh was noticeably missing from events after circulating rumors over on-set feuds. Of course, in the film, Pugh and Styles were romantically involved, but Wilde dismissed anything regarding a spark of jealousy.
Sarah Jessica Parker & Kim Cattrall
And so we wonder, how can two members of the most iconic girl group in New York City fall out overnight? Well, we hate to break it to you, but there is no coming back for Parker and Cattrall. There are rumors that the two barely got along whilst filming, so when the third film came around, there was no exception for Cattrall.
According to The Daily Mail, Cattrall refused to be a part of a third film for financial reasons. But she tweeted, "The only 'demand' I ever made was that I didn't want to do a 3rd film & that was back in 2016." While she was absent in the reboot series, Parker recently shaded, "Stop calling this a 'catfight'… There has been one person talking."
Ariana Grande vs. James Charles
After Ariana Grande invited beauty influencer James Charles backstage after a concert in 2018, James revealed his true feelings about Ariana in a YouTube video, and let's just say he wasn't impressed.
James called Ariana the "rudest celebrity" he'd ever met. He later noticed Grande unfollowed him on Instagram, so he asked her if he'd done something wrong. She said, "I saw a lot of angry tweets from my fans... so I unfollowed."
Lauren Conrad vs. Heidi Montag
Anyone who watched The Hills probably remembers the dramatic feud between Lauren Conrad and Heidi Montag, which all started when Heidi began dating her now-husband, Spencer Pratt. "Lauren is a cold-hearted killer," Pratt used to tell Montag. "She tried to destroy us."
In no time, Lauren and Heidi went from roomies to arch enemies, and as long as Heidi was involved with Spencer, then Lauren could no longer be her friend. "I actually came dangerously close to not doing season three because I really didn't want to do the show with Heidi and Spencer," Conrad revealed.
Shane Dawson vs. The Smith Family
When a video of YouTuber Shane Dawson fantasizing about Willow Smith resurfaced, the entire Smith family immediately shut Dawson down, as they were appalled by his behavior. "To Shane Dawson... I'm done with the excuses," Jada Pinkett-Smith tweeted in June of 2020.
Jaden Smith also tweeted at Dawson, saying he was "disgusted" by the YouTuber's actions. "You sexualizing and 11-year-old girl who happens to be my sister... is the furthest thing from funny and not OK in the slightest bit," Jaden tweeted. "This man was also doing black face on the regular. this is not okay."
Naomi Campbell vs. Tyra Banks
After Naomi Campbell and Tyra Banks wrapped up a Vogue photoshoot together in 1992, it was revealed that the supermodels were in the midst of a major feud. "People didn't realize that I was going home crying my eyes out because a woman that I was looking up to seemed like she just didn't want me to be there," Naomi explained.
From that point on, Campbell and Banks continued to feud, and while they put their differences aside to complete shoots, once the cameras stopped rolling, they went back to hating one another. Tyra told E! Naomi said many nasty things to her during runway shows and attempted to get her fired from jobs.
Cole Carrigan vs. Jake Paul
YouTube stars Cole Carrigan and Jake Paul started off as friends, but one day, their relationship unraveled after Cole left Jake's content house, Team 10, and revealed that Paul didn't live up to the promises he made. "The environment was very toxic," said Carrigan. "No one cared about each other. No one supported each other."
Cole also claimed that Paul spraypainted offensive words over a mural that he'd painted, demanding that he move out of the house. After all the chaos, Jake encouraged his former wife, Tana Mongeau, to uninvite Cole from her birthday party and threatened to not attend if Cole was there.
Megan Thee Stallion vs. Tory Lanez
In July of 2020, Megan Thee Stallion was involved in a traumatic incident, resulting in her getting shot and suffering severe gunshot wounds. She later revealed that she had been hit by Canadia rapper Tory Lanez, but Lanez used the lyrics in his song, Money Over Fallout, to deny the accusation.
"People tryna frame me... Girl, you had the nerve to write that statement on the affidavit, knowing I ain't do it," Lanez rapped. He also questioned whether she was even shot. Megan continued to focus on her recovery, and in the end, Tory was charged with carrying an unregistered firearm and shooting Megan multiple times.
Katherine Heigl vs. Shonda Rhimes
It's no secret that Katherine Heigl has been considered a "difficult" actress to work with by the media. This all started when she withdrew herself from the 2008 Emmys because she didn't believe the "material" Shonda Rimes gave her in Grey's Anatomy "to warrant an Emmy nomination."
"On some level, it stung, and on some level, I was not surprised," Rimes explained. "When people show you who they are, believe them." So, Shonda cut Katherine's character from the show after six seasons. A few years ago, Heigl shared that she didn't mean to criticize Rimes' work, and she was simply displeased with her acting.
Megan Fox vs. Michael Bay
After starring in two of the Transformers films, Megan Fox decided not to return for the third because of how she was treated by director Michael Bay. On her first day on set, Bay instructed Fox to wash his car, even though it was completely unrelated to her role in the film, and claimed he was a dictator ever since.
Megan tried to speak out about the unfair treatment she faced from the director, but "I was rejected because of qualities that are now being praised in other women coming forward." Fox said that Bay was "a nightmare to work for," and Bay claimed that he launched her career, and she was ungrateful for that.
Lindsay Lohan vs. Jennifer Lawrence
During an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert a few years ago, Jennifer Lawrence made a reference to Lindsay Lohan that rubbed her the wrong way. Lawrence spoke about her work schedule, saying, "I get like, Lindsay Lohan-grade exhaustion," and explained she doesn't engage in the same inappropriate behavior.
Lindsay and her family were appalled at Jennifer's comment and took to Twitter to express their frustration. "I never breathe life into negativity. But I stand by my family. Disappointed in Jennifer Lawrence. You lost a fan," said Lindsay's sister, Aliana.
Andy Cohen vs. Jillian Michaels
Bravo icon Andy Cohen and celebrity trainer Jillian Michaels have had their fair share of disagreements over the years, and Michaels claimed that the first time she went on Cohen's show, he acted "condescending and unprofessional." Jillian later spoke about her thoughts on a trending diet, and evidently, Andy strongly disagreed.
After Michaels told fans to "avoid the keto diet," Cohen publicly called her a "jackhole." Next came a feud about the Real Housewives, where Jillian said, "It's like [the franchise] was created by someone who hates women!" From that point on, Cohen had countless negative things to say about Michaels, and the beef continued.
Alexandra Cooper vs. Sofia Franklyn
Alexandra Cooper and Sofia Franklyn rapidly rose to fame through their podcast, Call Her Daddy. They built an empire together and maintained an incredibly loyal fanbase across America. However, in the spring of 2020, they went a few weeks without posting a new episode of the podcast, and eventually, Cooper revealed what had gone down.
She explained that Sofia was not satisfied with their contract with Barstool Sports anymore, and she and Alex couldn't agree on terms. Both Alex and Sofia told their sides of the story, and in the end, they went their separate ways, with Alex continuing to work on Call Her Daddy and Sofia starting her own podcast.
Nicki Minaj vs. Cardi B.
Ever since Cardi B emerged in the hip Hop world with her debut single, Bodak Yellow, she and Nicki Minaj have been butting heads. These two incredibly talented and passionate female rappers became each other's biggest competition, and more and more tension built up over time.
Nicki and Cardi have thrown countless subtweets and had a near fistfight after Cardi claimed that Nicki spoke about her child. "When you mention my child… all bets are off!" At the end of 2019, Cardi tweeted, "I don't want to end this year on bad terms with anyone… APOLOGIZE TO ME." who knows what the future holds for them.
Katy Perry vs. Taylor Swift
At one point in time, Katy Perry and Taylor Swift were close friends, but rumors sparked that they had a falling out. This was because Swift hired dancers for a tour that had previously worked for Perry. The dancers had to leave Taylor's tour early to perform in Katy's, and soon after that, Taylor released Bad Blood.
She told Rolling Stone Magazine that the song was about another female pop star who had done something "so horrible" to her that it made them "straight-up enemies." Katy later said, "She started it, and it's time for her to finish it." In 2017, Perry apologized to Swift, and the artists agreed to put the ongoing feud behind them.
Vin Diesel vs. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson
Fans were shocked when two of Holywood's toughest stars, Vin Diesel and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, started an extremely public feud in 2016. It all began when Johnson's debut role in Fast Five brought the movie franchise incredible success after it had struggled in the past.
Diesel claimed that he'd spent years building the franchise, and Johnson just swooped in and took over. "Some conduct themselves as stand up men and true professionals, while others don't," Johnson explained. He also thanked the "Fast Fam" but left out Diesel in his post. Years later, they resolved the feud.
Amy Schumer vs. Khloe Kardashian
It's no secret that Amy Schumer loves nothing more than pulling pranks and getting a reaction from the crowd, especially with the Kardashian family. While hosting an episode of Saturday Night Live in 2019, she started some unintended beef with Khloe Kardashian.
In her opening monologue, Schumer discussed the fact that many young girls look up to the Kardashians. She implied that Khloe was the only "real" role model, though, since she hadn't had any work done to alter her appearance. That is, until "she lost half her body weight. She lost a Kendall." Khloe was certainly offended by this.
Tati Westbrook vs. James Charles
Beauty blogger Tati Westbrook welcomed James Charles into the industry with open arms a couple of years ago but felt extremely betrayed by his actions last year. Tati expected James to help promote her line of beauty vitamins after everything she'd done to help him launch his career, but that's not what happened.
Things took a turn for the worst when Charles promoted Westbrook's rival brand, and Westbrook expressed her disappointment publicly, saying, "I feel really used. I don't think there's any getting through to you, and I don't want to be friends with you." James uploaded an apology video, but Tati wanted nothing to do with him.
Chrissy Teigen vs. Alison Roman
This year, Chrissy Teigen's debuted her culinary career, publishing a successful cookbook and inspiring fans with her newest accomplishment. However, New York Times food columnist, Alison Roman, jumped to criticize Teigen, implying that she only launched a cookbook for some extra cash.
"This is a huge bummer, and it hit me hard," Teigen tweeted in May of 2020. "We do this work ourselves, and there is NO monetary gain yet. It is just work work work and the reward is you liking it," Chrissy added. Roman eventually apologized, but it's unclear if Teigen wants to be her friend or not after all of that.
Miley Cyrus vs. Nicki Minaj
Miley Cyrus and Nicki Minaj have had beef for years, and it began when Nicki's song Anaconda wasn't nominated for video of the Year in 2015. "If your video celebrates women with very slim bodies, you will be nominated for vid of the year," she tweeted, which offended Taylor Swift, whose video for Bad Blood received a nomination.
After that, Miley said Nicki was "not too kind." That was the spark that started this feud, with Nicki saying, "Back to this b***h that had a lot to say about me the other day in the press; Miley, what's good?" Years later, Cyrus released a song with the lyrics, "I love you, Nicki, but I listen to Cardi." Shots fired!
Jeffree Star vs. James Charles
Jeffree Star, another influential beauty blogger, was once a close friend of James Charles, but after James and Tati Westbrook's public blowout, their friendship was never the same. Jeffree sided with Tati in the fight and then tweeted, "There's a reason why I haven't seen him since @GlamLifeGuru's birthday in February.
"He is a danger to society. Everything Tati said is 100% true," Star continued. "There is a reason that Nathan [Star's boyfriend at the time] banned James Charles from ever coming to our home again." A few months ago, Jeffree uploaded a video to YouTube apologizing to James, saying he handled the situation poorly.
Kendra Wilkinson vs. Holly Madison
Former Playboy playmate Holly Madison published a memoir in 2016 about what it's like to date Hugh Hefner, called Down the Rabbit Hole. She explained that the mansion was essentially a culture of fear; "When I arrived, I saw women tell lies about other women and get them kicked out."
Another former playmate, Kendra Wilkinson, who had dated Hefner, completely disagreed with Holly's book. She accused Holly of wanting to marry Hef because of his money and then crashed Holly's book signing to get material for her reality show. From that point on, the two have been at each other's throats.
Gwyneth Paltrow vs. Martha Stewart
Years after Gwyneth Paltrow launched her lifestyle brand, Goop, Martha Stewart suddenly had quite a lot to say about Paltrow's latest business venture. "If [Paltrow] were confident in her acting, she wouldn't be trying to be Martha Stewart," Martha shared.
During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live, a viewer asked Stewart what she thought about Goop's newest candle. "I'm sure it sold out," she said. "She does that kind of irritatingly - she's trying to zhuzh up the public to listen to her, and that's great... I wouldn't buy that candle."
Rihanna vs. Ciara
Rihanna and Ciara's ongoing feud first started in 2011 when Ciara explained that when she met Rihanna at a Red Carpet event, she'd ignored her, and she "wasn't the nicest," during an appearance on E! Fashion Police. "It wasn't the most pleasant run-in," Ciara continued.
Rihanna fought back, saying, "My bad Ci, did I forget to tip you? #howrudeofme." this led to countless tweets back and forth and years of brawling. "Trust me, Rihanna, you don't want to see me on or off the stage," Ciara tweeted. In 2018, Rihanna finally called a truce by performing Ciara's debut song, Goodies.
Lady Gaga vs. Madonna
Lady Gaga managed to rub Madonna the wrong way after releasing her song, Born This Way, in 2011. People immediately starting comparing it to Madonna's Express Yourself, including Madonna, and Gaga called the comparison "moronic." She explained, "The only similarities are the chord progression."
"Just because I'm the first f***ing artist to think of putting it on Top 40 radio, it doesn't mean I'm a plagiarist, it means that I'm f***ing smart," Gaga added. She continued to ignite the flame over the years, saying, "I've basically been hoping that I would become so good that one day I would piss off Madonna."
Will Smith vs. Janet Hubert
The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air stars Will Smith and Janet Hubert maintained a 27-year-long feud, which just ended last month. Hubert was the first actress to play Aunt Viv in the sitcom, but after three seasons, she was replaced by Daphne Maxwell Reid and blamed this recast on Smit
"No matter what, to her [Hubert], I'm just the Antichrist," Smith said in '93. When asked about the situation in 2011, Janet said, "He's still an egomaniac and has not grown up... This constant reunion thing will never ever happen in my lifetime unless there is an apology, which he doesn't know the word," Hubert explained.
Taylor Swift vs. Scooter Braun
When word spread that talent manager Scooter Braun had acquired Big Machine Records in 2019, Taylor swift was furious. This was because it meant Braun now owned the rights masters to her recordings, and SWift explained on Tumblr how "sad and grossed out" she was by this.
Taylor claimed that she had been left in the dark about the whole deal, and Scooter denied these claims, which sparked some hectic beef. she eventually left the record label and assumed that Braun would someday sell her masters. "Never in my worst nightmares did I imagine the buyer would be Scooter."
J. Lo vs. Mariah Carey
Two of music's most iconic women, Jennifer Lopez and Mariah Carey, had their fair share of beef over the years, and it all stemmed from Mariah's ex-husband, Tommy Mottola, who both Mariah and Jennifer worked for at Sony Music. After Carey and Mottola split, he invested in another female artist, J. Lo.
"I don't know her," Carey famously said about Lopez, who became her rival. Mariah claimed that J. Lo stole not one but two songs that were meant to be hers, but instead, Lopez got these hits, and her career took off. In Mariah's eyes, Lopez had sabotaged her career.
Drake vs. Meek Mill
Ever since Meek Mill accused Drake of not writing his own lyrics, the two of them have had numerous aggressive Twitter feuds. "Stop comparing Drake to me too… He don't write his own raps!" Meek tweeted. "He ain't even write that verse on my album."
"And if I woulda knew I woulda took it off my album... I don't trick my fans!" Meek continued. Drake was furious by this, and the rappers continuously went off on each other on social media. For years, Drake and Meek dropped diss tracks left and right, from Changed Up to Wanna Know, until they made up in 2017.
Lana Del Rey vs. Azealia Banks
After Kanye shared his political views on Twitter a few years ago, Lana Del Rey responded to his tweet, disagreeing with everything he'd posted. Once Azealia Banks saw Lana's tweet, she fired back, saying, "Wow, okay, Lana, this would be cute if you were consistent with your outrage and refused to collab with ASAP Rocky."
Azealia continued tweeting about Lana, accusing her of using Kanye to make her look more knowledgeable and politically aware. "Banks. u coulda been the greatest female rapper alive, but u blew it. don't take it out on the only person who had ur back," Lana tweeted.
50 Cent vs. French Montana
50 Cent's beef began with French Montana all over the discussion of people having beef back in the day. "You should avoid beef if you trying to make money," French told Complex. "They [used to] do that with 50 because 50 was on the bank. They knew he was going to win."
50 Cent called French out for his comments, saying, "French Montana, you ain't sh** boy. You out your league talking about me." This continued to go back and forth and escalated yet again this year. 50 and his fans accused French of "faking" his streams on Spotify in January of 2020.
Kim Kardashian vs. Chloë Grace Moretz
In 2016, Kim Kardashian posted one of many selfies, and this particular photo caught the eye of 19-year-old Chloë Grace Moretz, who was displeased by it. Kim had captioned the photo "When you're like I have nothing to wear LOL," and it was considered scandalous by some.
Moretz responded to Kardashian's post, saying, "I truly hope you realize how important setting goals are for young women, teaching them we have so much more to offer than just our bodies." Kim tweeted back, "Let's all welcome @ChloeGMoretz to Twitter since no one knows who she is." And they've been butting heads ever since.
