Demi Lovato has certainly opened up to her fans about some of her personal experiences over the last year. Recently, the artist revealed that her latest album, Dancing with the Devil, helped her learn to love herself again. By writing this particular music, Lovato saw herself in a more positive light after experiencing some dark days during her career.

"What I learned about myself while writing this album is that I'm a catch," Lovato explained. "I deserve the best kind of love. I hope that everyone that listens to this album can say the same thing for themselves. And I realize I never want to settle for anything less than what makes me feel absolutely amazing."

"This album helped me fall in love with myself because I've never been able to really feel super confident and stable on my own," Demi continued. The music video for Dancing with the Devil required Lovato to relive a dark time in her life, as it recreated the night of her overdose in 2018. "Creating the music video for #DancingWithTheDevil was not the easiest shoot I've ever done," she shared. "I create my art to heal, and to inspire others. I'm here today, and I'm happy you are too."

And while Dancing with the Devil brought countless challenges, it also helped Lovato feel at peace with herself and the place she's at in her life. "This is the first time in my life where I am single and alone and I feel happier than ever before, even happier than some relationships I've been in," she shared. "It's been a really cool process getting to know myself." This week, the artist released the final episode of her YouTube docuseries, Demi Lovato: Dancing with the Devil.

She first opened up about her "painful journey" when she released the trailer for the series earlier this year and has given her fans a closer look into her reality ever since. Following the fourth episode, editor Shannon Albrink explained that the primary mission was to maintain Lovato's truth, no matter how difficult it was. "As we went along, we realized that she was so honest in her interviews that she surprised us with the topics that we didn't think she would discuss," Albrink revealed. Ultimately, it looks like Demi's only going up from here, and we can't wait to see what she has in store for the future!
