After the D'Amelio family hosted James Charles for dinner, Dixie and Charli were called out for being rude to their private chef, Aaron May. The stars received backlash from viewers who perceived their criticism of the food as ill-mannered. Now, Dixie and James sat down to discuss the infamous meal.

"The whole thing definitely got taken way out of proportion," James said. "I can see why, however, from the public's perspective why it got turned into what it did, but I didn't think the reaction should have been as harsh. The situation between me and Charli with the whole followers' thing was an innocent joke."

The makeup guru also stood up for Dixie after viewers condemned her for pretending to throw up from eating a snail. "I don't care if Gordon Ramsay put a snail in front of me, I'm not eating it," Charles said to D'Amelio. "And I love Gordon Ramsay, and I stan. And Aaron May was incredible, but I can't believe you ate it in the first place."

James then reminded fans that reality television is "planned," with Dixie's reps always looking out for her. "If you... were actually being rude to somebody, your team is going to see it and be like 'Cut that out of the video immediately,'" Charles said. "But it was kept in the video because... it wasn't actually a shady moment."

Dixie added that it might've been her delivery and not the words themselves that were problematic. "My sense of humor is very sarcastic," she said. "[It] does not come across on the internet." D'Amelio agreed with Charles that she and her sister need to be more self-aware in the future.
