It's been 21 years since Drew Barrymore and Jessica Alba filmed Never Been Kissed, and they just reunited to reminisce about their experience together. The film was Barrymore's first production with her business, Flower Films Company, and her first time working with Alba, so there was a lot to look back on.
Drew reflected on her experience filming Never Been Kissed, saying she remembers having "The best time making that film," with Jessica and the rest of the cast. Being one of her first significant productions as an adult actress, the film opened many doors for Barrymore going forward. Alba expressed her gratitude for Barrymore, giving herself and other inexperienced actors a chance to shine.
"It felt like camp, but you also, I mean, you really took so many people under your wing and guided them," Alba said to Barrymore. "A lot of us were just really starting out, and you set the stage, I would say for us and gave us a platform to be successful, so thank you."
"It's been almost 22 years. I think it has been 22 years since Never Been Kissed," Barrymore exclaimed. The film was about a young copyeditor who went undercover as a high school student. To fit in, she had to befriend some fellow students, who were played by Jessica Alba and James Franco.
"I wanted to make this movie because it taps into an emotion that everyone can identify with - the awkward moments of our high school years," Barrymore said back in 1999. Alba also recalled spending her 17th birthday on set, as she was truly just getting on her feet in Hollywood at the time.
After over two decades of first working together, Drew and Jessica have remained friends since filming the movie and connect on many levels, including motherhood. Not only do they have similar career goals, but also alike experiences raising children while working, and essentially doing it all!
