Hailey Bieber and supermodel... They just go hand-in-hand, don't they? Well, it turns out that our girl Hailey experienced some industry bumps lately. And she's ready to spill her feelings with the rest of us when it comes to prioritizing feeling good about yourself in the tough industry.
It all started when Allure magazine dropped their May 2022 edition, which featured the iconic Mrs. Bieber on the cover rocking pink hair. And as custom in cover models, the model also gave an interview, where she sat down with Allure writer Darian Symoné Harvin in sunny Los Angeles to talk all things Hailey. In the piece, Bieber gave a rundown of her career as one of the biggest names in modeling. In her eyes, she saw her success on the runway as a major accomplishment, considering that she was 5'7" and most other models run much taller. From 2014 to 2016, she walked in major shows, including Tommy Hilfiger, Moschino, Jeremy Scott, and many more. But if you've noticed, Hailey hasn't exactly been popping up on the catwalk in recent years, and there's a specific reason behind it.
"I had a really bad experience with a casting director, who was very important," Bieber confessed during the interview. "He said something to my agent that just shook my confidence when it came to the runway." While we may forget it from time to time, Bieber was just a young adult at this time and chose to prioritize her own self-love rather than continue to feel bad at work - and TBH, we don't blame her! "I don't want to feel bad about myself in this space because I feel really good about the other work that I do," she explained of her passion for print modeling. "So why would I even put myself in a position to feel small?" We're not going to lie - we're definitely going to adopt this mantra into our own lives because it looks like it's worked out just fine for Mrs. Bieber!
