While on the promotional circuit for her new romantic comedy with Josh Duhamel, Shotgun Wedding, Jennifer Lopez discussed her past year and how amazing it was on the Today show. Here's what she had to say for herself.
A lot happened in 2022 for the 53-year-old singer. In April, her beau, actor Ben Affleck, proposed while Lopez was in her favorite place in the world – a bubble bath. The Gone Girl actor got done on one knee and asked for her hand in marriage, surprising her with a beautiful green diamond ring. In her newsletter, On The JLo, Lopez wrote, “I always say the color green is my lucky color.” Lucky she is! Then, only a few months later, the two tied the knot in an intimate Las Vegas ceremony on July 16. Their children served as their witnesses, and Lopez wrote to her newsletter’s subscribers that it was “the best night ever.” They continued the celebrations with a romantic vacation in Paris. A month after they tied the knot in Nevada, the couple invited friends and family to Affleck’s 87-acre compound outside of Savannah, Georgia, for a wedding weekend to remember. Celebrities like Matt Damon and Kevin Smith were in attendance. They honeymooned in Italy, and that’s not all.
In addition to a year of beautiful celebrations, Lopez shared the fantastic news on the Today show that the two families have officially combined households. She stated, “We moved in together, the kids moved in together, so it’s been like a really kind of emotional transition. But at the same time… all your dreams coming true, it’s just been a phenomenal year.” Lopez also said that this was the “best year, I think, since my kids were born.” By all the events mentioned above, we can definitely imagine why. Both Lopez and Affleck have children from previous marriages. Lopez has twins, Max and Emme, with ex-husband Marc Anthony, and Affleck has three children with ex-wife Jennifer Garner, Violet Anne, Seraphina Rose, and Samuel. Lopez celebrated her “best year” with an Instagram reel, showing off video clips and photos from 2022. What a year it has been!
