Justin Bieber Admits His First Year of Marriage Was 'Really Tough'

It's no secret that Justin and Hailey Bieber make quite the dreamy couple, but apparently, even the Biebers have faced some marital struggles. Aside from appearing on the cover of GQ Magazine's May 2021 issue, Justin opened up about his personal life over the last couple of years. This includes some low points in his marriage, which he says were due to his own struggles.
"The first year of marriage was really tough because there was a lot going back to the trauma," Bieber revealed. "There was just a lack of trust. There was all these things that you don't want to admit to the person that you're with, because it's scary." Thankfully, though, Hailey has been incredibly supportive every step of the way and helped him move past this dark time. Many people have wondered with the two lovebirds married so young, as Justin was 24 and Hailey was only 21 at the time.

But both Mr. and Mrs. Bieber always knew they were ready to take this leap of faith and tie the knot. Justin explained that he'd always seen himself as someone who was "compelled" to get married. "I just felt like that was my calling," he shared. "Just to get married and have babies and do that whole thing." So, does that mean we can expect some baby Biebers in the near future? "Not this second, but we will eventually," Justin said.
Justin and Hailey said "I do" back in 2018 at a New York City courthouse, just a month after getting engaged. The following year, they had a much larger celebration with friends and family, and of course, Hailey looked stunning, as always. As for today? The lovebirds are "just creating these moments for us as a couple, as a family, that we're building these memories," as Justin explained. "And it's beautiful that we have that to look forward to. Before, I didn't have that to look forward to in my life... I didn't have someone to love."
