We've got some good news (or bad news, depending on who we ask): Liam Payne is back on the market. The One Direction singer has officially called it quits with his former fiancé, Maya Henry. Here's what he had to say about their sudden split.
On Monday, June 7, the Strip that Down artist sat down with The Diary of a CEO podcast to open about his love life – well, or lack thereof. “I am indeed,” Payne confessed when asked if he was single. As for why he’s no longer beau’d up? Let’s just say, we’ve got lots of questions…
"I feel like more than anything at this point, I'm more disappointed in myself that I keep on hurting people," the singer confessed. "I've just not been very good at relationships... And I feel like that's where I got to in my last relationship." Consider us intrigued...
In case you forgot, Liam and his ex, Maya Henry, had been going strong for almost 2 years after stepping out together in August of 2019. Since then? Things seemed to be going great after Payne popped the question a year later. "Always keeping the biggest smile on my face through all the stress and making me realize how perfect my life really is. Love you," he gushed at the time.
Unfortunately, we all know how this story ends. "I just need to work on myself before I put myself on to somebody else," the artist came to realize after his latest split. We certainly stan a self-love king. But, hey, Liam? Once you're ready to take a dip back in the dating pool? We'll be waiting. Right here.
All jokes aside, we wish nothing but the best for Payne and Maya Henry. As for what that may call for? Might a reconciliation be in the cards somewhere down the line? Or perhaps are they better off as “friends?” We guess we’ll have to wait and find out.
