As this year's Golden Globe nominations started to roll in, Lily Collins was surprised to learn that Emily in Paris was nominated for two awards. The Netflix series is being considered for Best TV Series, Musical, or Comedy, as well as Best Actress, for Collin's role as Emily.

The series was loved by many viewers, including Lily, as she said she genuinely enjoyed playing the character, Emily. "I'm just proud that this show was nominated," said Collins. "It's my first producing credit, so I feel really excited to be a part of something that is acknowledged in that way, as well as playing a character that provided people with so many laughs and smiles during this really trying time for the world."

Collins also revealed that she certainly wasn't expecting any nominations, although she was hopeful. "To be honest, I was looking at it from the perspective of 'it would be so incredible, but I'm not thinking it's going to go one way or the other,'" she explained. Believe it or not, Lily didn't even wait by her phone or computer to hear the final verdict! "I was asleep, and then I woke up and had so many messages and so many phone calls," Collins explained. "I was deeply confused and so excited, and I'm just so over the moon."

Because Emily in Paris was such a success, the series has been renewed for a second season, and we can't wait to see what else is in store for Emily as she takes on more adventures in Paris! The first season ended with a major cliffhanger (we won't spoil it if you haven't watched it just yet), so we're dying to see what comes next for Emily, Mindy, Camille, and the rest of the cast.

At the beginning of 2021, Ashley Park, who played Mindy, gave some insight on season two of Emily in Paris. "We're definitely filming season two in 2021," Park told E! News. "I know nothing about the plot. They haven't even written it. That's what's kind of amazing." While Park and the rest of the cast don't know exactly what'll come along in season two, they can't wait to get started. And stay tuned to see if Lily Collins wins any Golden Globes later this month!
