Meghan Markle’s Dad Spills About Baby Lili and the Oprah Interview

It's been quite the year for the royal family. From births to backing down from the throne, we've seen just about everything. But according to Meghan Markle's dad, perhaps not everything was as it seems. Here's what he had to say in his latest interview...
On Sunday, June 13, Thomas Markle sat down with 60 Minutes to reveal what was really going on behind closed doors – at least where he was concerned. For starters, he didn’t have much to say about his new granddaughter, “Lili,” considering he had no idea about her arrival: “No phone calls… I just heard it on the radio,” he claimed of finding out about the royal baby’s birth.

Nonetheless, he has nothing but warm wishes for his family's latest addition. "Lily is a perfect name," Thomas gushed. "All I can say is I hope I get to eventually, sometime see these grandchildren of mine because I'm a pretty good grandpa." Unfortunately, he didn't share those same warm wishes for everyone...
Of course, we're talking about the infamous Oprah interview, which opened the lid on a whole lot of secrets. But as Mr. Markle put it, "The only person benefitting from this is Oprah Winfrey." According to the concerned father, he believes the queen of daytime TV has ulterior motives. "It seems to me she's pushing [the situation] to get more and more out of it."
But while Meghan’s father might not be too thrilled about the TV personality’s latest endeavor, he’d still like to land a spot on her couch. “I left a letter for Oprah with my phone number and email, and I said, ‘Give me a chance to tell my story,” he confessed. “It’s not fair to tell [their] story without hearing my story.” Consider us intrigued…
Might we catch Mr. Markle in the hot seat in the near future? Or perhaps will his "story" forever remain a mystery. We guess we'll have to wait and find out.
