Miley Cyrus performed a cover of Britney Spears' Gimme More on the latest episode of MTV Unplugged this past Friday, and she absolutely killed it. She dominated the stage in a zebra print dress, matching gloves, and show-stopping sunglasses to indeed wow the crowd.
Not only did Miley sing Britney's song brilliantly, but she also added her own twist to the 2007 hit. Cyrus introduced some of her own raw vocals and a bit of a country-rock sound to truly make this cover a performance unlike any other.
Cyrus put on this incredible performance in her backyard as a part of the series, Miley Cyrus Backyard Sessions. Earlier this year, Miley revealed that she's a big fan of Britney, saying, "You should've seen my face when Britney covered I Love Rock 'n' Roll in Crossroads. I melted down."
"I actually lost my mind," Cyrus added. "That was worlds colliding beyond what I could have ever dreamed of." Miley also covered other artists from her backyard stage, including The Velvet Underground, Pearl Jam, and The Cardigans.
Miley was joined on stage by her younger sister, Noah, and she couldn't have been a prouder big sister, as she expressed on Instagram. The two sang a duet of Noah's song, I Got So High I Saw Jesus. Other artists and fans were also blown away, commenting things like, "this is beautiful" and "mesmerizing."
Gimme More was Miley's latest song among the many covers they'll be recreating, with her own twist, of course. Fans worldwide have expressed their excitement about hearing Miley's upcoming covers, as she's emphasized her big plans for the future.
