Welcome to the O.C., @*$#! It may have been over a decade since we said goodbye to Orange County's finest, but the saga is actually far from over. Mischa Barton just sat down to give us an inside look at life as Marissa Cooper. And let's just say, things got messy, real quick...

It all started when The O.C. actress sat down with E! News to reveal why she really decided to leave the show back in season 4. "It's a bit complicated," Barton hinted. As for why, exactly, things got tricky? According to the star, there might have been another person to blame: Summer Roberts. Yes, really.

"It started pretty early on because it had a lot to do with them adding Rachel [Bilson] in last minute as, after the first season, a series regular," Mischa confessed. We don't know what to unpack first: the fact that Marissa and Summer may not have been besties off-screen - or the fact that Summer Roberts wasn't meant to be a series regular...

But before we get too heated here, allow Rachel Bilson's follow-up interview to remind you that there are, indeed, two sides to every story. While appearing on the Everything Iconic podcast, the O.C. actress was quick to set the record straight on her co-star's, um, choice of words about their time together.

As for what she had to say for herself? "You know Melinda [a.k.a Julie Cooper], and I were talking immediately after it [the interview] came out," Bilson explained. "And we were just like, 'Wait, what?'" As the actress put it, Mischa's claims were actually far from true. In fact, they were "completely false," Bilson assured.

"Where is she going with this, and what is she trying to say?" the actress continued. "I would actually like to talk to her and find out what her experience was from her perspective, because I saw things a little differently." Yikes. Might we watch Summer and Marissa hash things out on our screen sometime down the line?

We'd definitely stay tuned.
