Thirty, flirty, and thriving as they say, or as Selena Gomez calls it: "30, nerdy and worthy." The Disney legend just turned the big 3-0, and we are here to say happy birthday, girl! The Rare Beauty founder uploaded some adorable photos of her and her BFF, Taylor Swift, as the pair rang in her latest milestone together. Swift, who hit the milestone birthday in 2019, was all smiles as the actress rang in her big day - and Taylena fans everywhere are loving it! Here's what went down.
For starters - the two celebs actually go way back! According to the No Murders in the Building star, she and Swift met back in 2008 when she was dating Nick Jonas and Taylor was dating Joe Jonas. What a squad. "We actually dated the Jonas Brothers together! It was hysterical," Gomez revealed in a 2017 KISS-FM UK interview on how they met one another. "It was amazing because she was the girl with the big curly hair and all the bracelets and the cowboy boots, and I was definitely up-and-coming, and we just clicked. It was the best thing we got out of those relationships." She assured the outlet, "We're all friends now."
Taylena runs deep! That's nearly fifteen years of friendship! So, of course, Taylor was there to celebrate Sel's 30th! The adorable post from the festivities went viral, as the two hugged while Taylor formed "3" and "0" with her hands, and Selena flashed a big smile! The actress thanked her followers on her story for all the birthday wishes, explaining, "This year, my biggest wish is for donations to the Rare Impact Fund to support mental health. Together we can reduce the stigma [associated] with mental health and increase access to resources."
At the beginning of the year, Gomez opened up to PEOPLE regarding her upcoming birthday. "I love growing up," she said. "When I was younger, I was scared of it, and I thought by now my life would look so different. But now I'm like, 'Wow, this is not what I ever expected, and I couldn't be more thrilled.'" The actress added, "I've stopped caring about what people have to say, and that's been wonderful." We love to hear it! Happy birthday Sel!
