Selena Gomez seems to be doing it all, from creating incredible music to taking our TV screens by storm. Currently, she's in New York City filming her new Hulu series, Only Murders in the Building. Her character, Mable, certainly looks different than some of her previous roles. She's been spotted covered in fake blood, being escorted through the streets by the police.

Only Murders in the Building is Selena's first TV role since her Disney days when she starred in Wizards of Waverly Place, and clearly, things have only gone up from there. Gomez will both star in, and executive produce the series. Other members of the cast include Martin Short, Steve Martin, Amy Ryan, and more. The show follows three strangers, Mable (Gomez), Charles (Martin), and Oliver (Short), as they share an obsession with true crime until they suddenly find themselves right in the middle of one.

During an Instagram live a few months ago, Gomez gave fans a closer look at the upcoming series. "It's kind of a dramedy, so there's moments that are real, and then there are moments that are complete chaos and hilarious," she explained. "I'm working with Steve Martin and Martin Short, and if you don't know their work, by the way, they're pretty amazing people to be around." The TV comedy was created by Steve Martin and John Hoffman and is expected to be available on Hulu later this year. Martin opened up about why he chose to cast Gomez, saying, "You get a list of names, you know, you're thinking, sure they'd be good, they'd be good, and then they say, 'What about Selena Gomez?'"

"And it's just - yes, of course," Martin continued. "There was no question except 'Can we get her?' We knew she would enhance the show in so many ways, the number one being talent." Evidently, Gomez and Martin aren't the only ones confident in the outcome of the project. "It's really special, surprisingly emotional," said the head of Hulu originals, Craig Erwich. "It's really modern and self-referential about podcasts and murders, it's got some great surprises. When they pull this off, it's going to be really special."
