Selena Gomez got candid about her dating history in a recent interview with Vogue Australia. The former Disney Channel star bared all and explained why some past relationships were "cursed." Here are all of the details.
"I think most of my experiences in relationships have been cursed. I've been way too young to be exposed to certain things when I was in relationships," the Lose You to Love Me singer admitted. Selena then explained the meaning behind the title of her Rare record and makeup line by the same name.

"I guess I needed to find what was that word for me because I felt so less than in past relationships and never really felt equal," she added. "And so that word to me - when I first heard it [used in the single Rare] with Nolan [Lambroza], one of the writers, I just said this is what I want to feel about myself. So it wasn't even necessarily like: 'Oh, I feel that way, let me sing it.' It was almost like: 'Actually, I need to feel that way about myself.'"
We all gotta fake it 'till we make it sometimes. When Selena released Rare last year, we couldn't help but wonder who those tracks were about. Could she be singing about ex Justin Bieber? Or perhaps that roughly 10-month relationship with The Weeknd? One thing's for sure: the Only Murders in the Building starlet is not interested in having a new boyfriend. Not right now, at least.
"It's just funny because I release things that say 'I want a boyfriend' and stuff, and people say that, and I'm like, 'No, I didn't mean that,'" Selena explained back in September on NikkiTutorials. "Guys are a lot of work. Every one of my exes think I'm crazy, so I don't care." We love an unbothered queen. But Gomez's self-love journey has been a work in the making for quite some time.
In December, the pop star opened up about her mental health milestones. "I'm at the point where I'm starting to care less about what others think and more about what I feel," Gomez told PEOPLE. Plus, this busy gal has too much going on to pay the haters any mind. Not only is she starring in an upcoming Hulu series, but Selena + Chef was recently renewed for yet another season. We can't wait to see her back on our small screens.
