Selena Gomez didn't hold back in a recent interview for Vogue magazine's April issue. The starlet revealed she's considering retiring from music and would love to "start over." Read on for all of the details.
In a tell-all interview with Vogue, Selena explained why she might be leaving the music industry, and it's got us feeling all kinds of ways. "It's hard to keep doing music when people don't necessarily take you seriously," Gomez said. "I've had moments where I've been like, 'What's the point? Why do I keep doing this?'"

The Rare singer continued, "Lose You to Love Me I felt was the best song I've ever released, and for some people, it still wasn't enough. I think there are a lot of people who enjoy my music, and for that, I'm so thankful. For that, I keep going, but I think the next time I do an album, it'll be different. I want to give it one last try before I maybe retire music." Gomez added that she would like to spend more time producing and "give myself a real shot at acting."
Selena also shared that the last time she felt her "potential felt uncomplicated" was when she worked on Wizards of Waverly Place. "They [the cast] were there before any of it," she explained. "They loved me for me, and they still do. I can't say that I have that anymore. I can't meet someone and know if they like me for me. To be honest, I just want to start over. I want everything to be brand-new. I want someone to love me like I'm brand-new."
The Hollywood icon has felt the effects of fame and constant tabloid attention in her social life and career. But staying offline for the last three years has helped Gomez feel better. "I woke up one morning and looked at Instagram, like every other person, and I was done," Gomez said. "I was tired of reading horrible things. I was tired of seeing other people's lives. After that decision, it was instant freedom."
Selena has been off the internet for three years. She sends photos and texts for social media posts to her assistant. "Everyone always asks me, 'Are you secretly on? Are you lying?' And I'm like, 'I have no reason to lie,'" the starlet said. Gomez explained that she gets filled in on the news mostly from "an older woman that I'm really close with." The exclusive interview went on to reveal even more from the pop star, and let's just say... this tea is piping hot.
