They say breakups make you stronger, but even people who seem to have it all together can feel the moments of pain creep through. Following Shawn Mendes' split from Camila Cabello, we've heard very little from the singer as to how he's been coping. But in a recent Instagram video, his fans got to see a more vulnerable side to how the singer has been doing in the recent months...

But before we get to that, here's a brief recap for those who forgot: after dating for more than two years, Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes announced they were calling it quits via a joint Instagram statement. Since then, Cabello has opened up about their decision to end their relationship, saying, "My priorities have fluctuated, and my focus has changed throughout my life." She also added, "I think as I get older, the priorities shift. And I feel like that was that way for both of us." But her ex hasn't been too vocal about their split - that was, until now.

The It'll Be Okay singer's post reveals a behind-the-scenes clip of him discussing his post-breakup life behind his piano. "A lot of things that are also, like, resonating in the lyrics to me, it's like, 'Oh, ****.' You know, you don't realize, when you're breaking up with someone, you're thinking that it's the right thing to do," Shawn said. "You don't realize all this **** that comes after. Like, who do I call when I'm in a panic attack? Who do I call when I'm, like, ****ing, on the edge?" We hate to say it, but his words reflect emotions that are probably familiar to so many of us.

Mendes continued to describe how he feels his life is very different now that Camila is no longer in it. "I think that's the reality that kind of hit me. It's like, 'Oh, I'm on my own now,'" he continued. "Now, I feel like, finally, I'm actually on my own, and I hate that. That's my reality, you know?" Sadly, so many of us do. We hope to see these two recover from their heartbreaks soon and continue to be friends...
