Spider-Man: No Way Home producer Amy Pascal revealed during an interview with The New York Times that she warned Tom Holland and Zendaya against falling for each other. Well... we all know how that turned out. Here's the scoop.

Pascal admitted that after the two main leads of the movie were cast, she spoke to them about their relationship. "I took Tom and Zendaya aside, separately, when we first cast them and gave them a lecture," she said. "Don't go there—just don't. Try not to." Of course, the duo couldn't resist their chemistry, and eventually, they became romantically involved.

It's no secret that co-stars who portray Spider-Man and his beau typically end up in a relationship. Zendaya and Holland are not the first ones to ignore Pascal's request. The producer may have worked on the latest Spider-Man trilogy films, but she also worked on the first five movies. Pascal shared, "I gave the same advice to Andrew [Garfield] and Emma [Stone]. It can just complicate things, you know?" Pascal admitted that regardless of her warnings, "They all ignored me." Is it possible she was right? Garfield and Stone, who played Gwen Stacy in Amazing Spider-Man, ended up calling it quits on their relationships four years after the movie was filmed. And unfortunately, they weren't the only ones to break up.

Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst were the first couple who took their romance off-screen. The two were cast in the first Spider-man film in 2002, and from there, the connection sparked. "They apparently began dating with each other, I think, in the middle of the first movie…although I didn't know it at the time," the director, Sam Raimi, revealed to the Sydney Morning-Herald in 2007. Raimi continued explaining the downfall of the relationship, "They eventually broke up before the second movie. I was concerned they wouldn't get the same chemistry back, but it was just me worrying."

There must be something in the air on those movie sets, or maybe the love between Spider-Man and MJ or Gwen Stacy is just too strong to not translate into real life. Either way, let's just hope Zendaya and Tom will be the first ones to end the cycle and stay together. We love you, mom and dad!
