From the outside, Tom Holland has it all: a flourishing acting career, an A-list girlfriend, and a jet-setting life filled with red carpets. But, as we know, fame isn't always all it's cracked out to be.
In a recent interview with GQ, Tom opened up about the difficulties that come with being famous. In his case, it's brought disordered sleeping and sleep paralysis. "You're awake, but you can't move," Holland described. Making things even freakier for the actor is the fact that he has a recurring nightmare about the paparazzi.
"They're all there, and I'm looking for my publicist, like, 'Where is the person who's supposed to be protecting me? What's going on?'" Tom shared. "And then when I am able to move again, I turn the lights on, and it's over."
Holland added, "And I think, 'Oh my god, I'm in my room, I'm fine. There's no one here.' But then I will get up and look for a recording device or something that someone has put in my room." Fortunately, he hasn't found any secret cameras so far. This is extra good considering another habit the 25-year-old has developed during sleep: undressing.
Tom detailed how "Four out of ten sleeps I wake up completely naked." And now, he's on a mission to improve his beauty rest. The Spider-Man star is practicing lucid dreaming in the hopes that it will help him sleep better - and stop getting naked. "What happens is when you do it [lucid dreaming] for a long time, you start to do that in your sleep," he explained. Luckily, there's a special someone who's by his side to help.
Tom's romance with Zendaya might make him an even bigger obsession for the paparazzi, but it's also been crucial for his mental health. "Having her in my life was so instrumental to my sanity," he admitted. And just when we thought they couldn't get any cuter, Hollywood's power couple is getting us in our feelings all over again. But hey, we're not complaining.
