Is 'Big Little Lies' Done For Good?
| LAST UPDATE 11/22/2022
If you've been desperately missing the scandalous lives of Monterey's elite, you've likely been impatiently waiting for season three of Big Little Lies to arrive. Considering the severe lack of updates to have been provided, fans have been left wondering if there are even plans for a new season to be filmed. Now finally, in an interview with GQ, cast member Zoe Kravitz has addressed the matter - and we'll be real, it's not looking good...
Sitting down with GQ to answer some fan questions, Kravitz addressed a range of topics, from family life to her career. However, it was her answer to one specific question that had everyone talking. "When is Big Little Lies coming back on? Quit playing with me!" one fan pressed the actress. "I don't think it is," Kravitz responded sadly. "We talked about doing a Season 3 a lot. Unfortunately, Jean-Marc Vallée, our incredible director, passed away this last year, which is heartbreaking. And I can't imagine going on without him. He really was the visionary for that show. So, unfortunately, it's done."
But before you go crying into your pillow over Big Little Lies' somewhat abrupt ending, we must point out that all hope is not lost just yet! HBO, the streaming service behind the series, has yet to cancel the show officially. Not just that, the series' writer, David E. Kelley, has explained that although reuniting the cast would require a "scheduling nightmare," he hopes to succeed in doing so "down the road." Nicole Kidman, another member of the Monterey gang, also noted in an interview that Kelley and the book's author Liane Moriarty had some great ideas in place for the third season.
For anyone that missed out on the Big Little Lies hype, the series follows five moms living in Monterey, California. Played by Reese Witherspoon, Shailene Woodley, Laura Dern, and Zoe Kravitz, the women are brought together by a mysterious murder. The highly-awarded, nail-biting series is the perfect binge-watch or re-watch to keep you distracted until more official news comes our way. Until then, we'll be hanging on with hope!
