It's official! Emily Blunt is co-starring alongside Ryan Gosling in the upcoming Univeral feature film, The Fall Guy. The film made headlines when it was originally announced with Gosling as the star, but now that Blunt is on board, we can only imagine who else will join the star-studded cast in the future. So let's take a look at what we know thus far...
Although there is currently no inside scoop on the exact plotline, the soon-to-be Hollywood-hit film is inspired by the ABC TV series with the same title, The Fall Guy. The original series follows Lee Majors, who plays Colt Seavers, a stuntman by day and a bounty hunter on the side for extra cash. In addition to Colt, his cousin Howie plays a major part in the series, who "knows a little bit about everything and not enough about anything," and Jody, who is "a stunningly beautiful stuntwoman." The three join forces using their stuntman tricks to band together and catch criminals. The movie is expected to follow a similar storyline as the 1980s original series.
Not only are Gosling and Blunt starring in the upcoming film, but the actor himself is taking a seat on the other side of the camera as producer. The film is being directed and produced by David Leitch, famously known for directing Atomic Blonde (2017), starring Charlize Theron, Deadpool 2 (2018), starring Ryan Reynolds, and most recently, Bullet Train starring Brad Pitt. So basically, the film is in great hands. According to Leitch, "there's fun and action, and we're trying to make a big summer movie with it. And Universal's incredibly supportive, and Ryan's been really collaborative on the material, and we're starting shooting in October. And so, we're in pre-production right now."
