We don't know about you, but ever since season one of Ginny and Georgia aired its last episode, we've been desperately googling when it will be back. Believe it or not, that was back in February 2021! While the show was officially renewed in April 2021, that was as much as we were told on the matter. Over a year and a half later, we're finally getting some exciting updates about the show's return. Writer and executive producer Debra J. Fisher has been spilling the beans on season two's plot and release date, getting the fans excited for what's to come. Here's what she had to say.
"The number one question I get asked as the showrunner of Ginny and Georgia is 'Where's season two?'" Fisher teased in her TikTok video earlier this month. "Here's what I know and what I can tell you: we just wrapped [post-production]. So what does that mean? It will take Netflix 14 weeks to dub Ginny and Georgia into all the non-English speaking languages. Without getting an official word from Netflix, that takes us to the end of the year." Later, in the comments section, she clarified, "mid to late December at the earliest."
With the release date somewhat confirmed, fans have been trying to get their hands on some plot details. What is in store for the mother-daughter duo? Brianne Howey, who plays Georgia, revealed that when the show returns, it will pick up "not too long after season one, so we kind of pick up right where we left off, which is really exciting." Talking to LA Mag, she explained, "We're editing, we're doing some ADR. I've gotten to some stuff, and it's so exciting. They have completely topped season one, in my opinion. I just think we up the ante a little bit. All the levels get turned up just a little bit."

Talking of upping the ante, season one left off in a major cliffhanger, as Ginny (spoiler alert!) found out her mother had been the one to kill her ex-husband, Kenny. With that, she jumps on a motorbike and leaves town. How will Georgia respond to all of this? Talking to Decider, Brianne speculated on her theory. "Georgia is gonna lose her mind and set the town on fire. She’s going to take a torch through the streets," she guessed. It doesn't sound too far off! Till then, stay tuned.
