While we may still be mourning the end of Black-ish, we at least have its spin-off to look forward to! And lucky for us, Grown-ish has been picked up for its fifth season. And while we can look forward to more of the millennial antics from Zoey and her California University pals, there are some big changes coming our way for this upcoming season. So let's dive in and see what's in store.

For those who need a little reminder, the season four finale of Grown-ish saw Zoey graduating from Cal U, signifying a beautiful ending to her rollercoaster ride at college. And while one Johnson may have crossed the stage, it's time for another one to start their higher education experience. That's right, we've got a new show regular coming to season five, and it's a familiar face. Marcus Scribner is joining the gang after his multiple-year hiatus from college, which we saw take place on Black-ish. While we got used to seeing Marcus as a guest appearance on the show, he'll be taking a bigger role in the project, carrying on his acting legacy that has already landed him a NACP Image Award from his time playing Junior on Black-ish.

And it seems we weren't the only ones excited by this new addition. The 22-year-old actor broke the news on Instagram with a selfie holding an upcoming script for the new season. "I'm joining the cast of @growish," the actor gushed. "See ya'll at Cal U in season 5!" His post raked in over 100,000 likes from loyal fans of the Kenya Barris sitcoms, with people gushing in the comments section as well. But Marcus's big news wasn't the only update in the Grown-ish world for this coming season... Zakiyyah Alexander (known for Russian Doll) and Courtney Lilly from Black-ish will be taking over as showrunners, bringing some new juice to the set.

But that's all the deets we get for now! Freeform confirmed that later casting decisions and release dates will be coming in the future - so consider us waiting for the next update. Stay tuned for more!
