The 2020 VMA nominations have officially been announced, and stans everywhere couldn't help but notice the absence of 3 artists who have all had a VERY big year: Harry Styles, Dua Lipa, and Selena Gomez.
All 3 artists have released a chart-topping album in the past year, and have made some of the biggest and most buzz-worthy music videos along the way.
Dua took us through time and space with her hit Break My Heart, Harry hit us with a NSFW bikini-clad beach party with Watermelon Sugar, and Selena got up-close-and-personal with some frogs, literally and figuratively, in Boyfriend.
Ariana Grande and Lady Gaga led the nominations with 8 each for their collab Rain on Me, while The Weeknd and Billie Eilish were runner-ups with 6 nominations each.
While Selena, Harry, and Dua all snagged noms in technical categories like Best Art Direction and Best Visual Effects, all 3 were notably absent from the BIG categories: Video of the Year, Artist of the Year, and Song of the Year. See nominations ahead:
