The final installment in the legendary action series Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny has been making waves, dominating the July Fourth holiday weekend with its thrilling tale of treasure-hunting and ancient artifacts.

Despite opening on the lower end of expectations, Dial of Destiny managed to excavate a whopping $11.8 million on Monday alone. That's on par with what some of the biggest blockbuster hits, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and Thor: Love and Thunder, earned on their first Mondays in theaters. But the road to success wasn't easy - Dial of Destiny opened to an underwhelming $60.4 million in its first weekend. However, it seems like the film is quickly making a comeback, thanks to its all-star cast including Harrison Ford, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Antonio Banderas, John Rhys-Davies, Toby Jones, Boyd Holbrook, Ethann Isidore, and Mads Mikkelsen.

This James Mangold-directed tentpole cost Disney and Lucasfilm an astronomical $295 million to produce, but it looks like the investment is paying off. Dial of Destiny is a sequel to 2008's Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, which debuted with a stunning $100 million in North America over its first three days in cinemas. If you missed out on the action-packed adventure this past weekend, don't worry, you still have time to catch up. By the end of Tuesday, the film is expected to have a domestic box office total of $82.5 million. But Dial of Destiny isn't the only film making waves at the box office. Sony's Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and Pixar/Disney's Elemental are in a close race for second place, both earning roughly $3 million. Meanwhile, Jennifer Lawrence's R-rated raunchy comedy, No Hard Feelings, came in fourth with $1.9 million, followed by Transformers: Rise of the Beasts with $1.7 million.

Disney claims four of the top 10 entries on the box office chart, including Dial of Destiny, Elemental, The Little Mermaid, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. It looks like the House of Mouse is once again proving its reign as a reigning champion at the box office. So, what are you waiting for? Get your adventure shoes on and head out to the nearest cinema to witness the epic tale of Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. You won't regret it!
