Get ready because Jennifer Lopez is headed back to our screens! This Valentine's Day, the actress's new rom-com will be hitting theaters. Marry Me will not only follow a compelling love story about two strangers leading very different lives, but it will also include original songs from J.Lo and Maluma. Here's everything you need to know!
"Marry Me is a modern love story about celebrity, marriage and social media," as teased in the movie's official trailer. J.Lo will be playing Kat Valdez, an international music pop sensation. At the start of the film, she is seen dating Maluma's character, Bastian: an attractive music supernova. During the teaser, we see that the two play a power couple in the celebrity world. "As Kat and Bastian's inescapable hit single, Marry Me, climbs the charts, they announce their plans to wed before a ceremony streamed across multiple platforms. That is, until Kat finds out, right before the ceremony, that her boyfriend has been cheating all along - with none other than her assistant!
The plot thickens when she spots a stranger in the audience - a local math teacher, Charlie Gilbert, played by Owen Wilson, who she calls up onto the stage. Little does Charlie know his world would soon be switched upside down because the two decide to get married right then and there! Although it was an impulsive reaction by Kat, she decided to continue their relationship and try to work things out... even though they had just met. After all, nearly the whole world had just seen her previous relationship crumble before their eyes, and she didn't want another failed romance.
