The Kardashian family has been in the Hollywood spotlight for over a decade now, and it's hard to imagine a world without them. But Khloe just revealed that the legendary series almost didn't happen!
"I think we shot a pilot or something for Ryan [Seacrest], and it didn't go anywhere," Khloe said on the latest episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show. "And then a show on E! fell through, so they needed something to fill this dead air time. And they were like, 'You're getting on the show, start filming, you're getting on the air, like, in two weeks.'"
"We were so excited," she added. But the Good American founder said that the producers warned the Kardashian/Jenner clan not to get too enthusiastic about the deal. "They said, 'Don't get too comfortable here. It's, like, just filler,'" Kardashian told Clarkson.
Ever the optimist, the reality TV star saw the cup half full. "I actually really appreciate that because we were just thinking, 'Oh, we're not gonna have a season two, let's just film, it's fun, let's just be ourselves. This isn't gonna go anywhere,'" she shared.
The show was obviously a total hit, but it may have been because the family thought the series had no future. "We had no pressure on ourselves," Khloe explained. "We didn't even have time to think about it... It was just who we are on the fly, and I think that's what made the show so good...we just weren't thinking."
The star continued, "And it turned out that was probably the best thing to happen to us because it was so, I think, relatable and realistic to some people." Khloe and Kelly went on to discuss life in the industry as a mom and setting healthy boundaries. But don't take our word for it, watch the interview and see for yourselves!
