Remember October of 2021? It was full of some great moments, you guys. From Kim's iconic Saturday Night Live hosting gig to the lack of Kim-Pete-Ye drama, life was pretty good. So why not take a look back at the prep that went into Kim's comedy debut that doubled as her and Pete's meet-cute?
Thanks to the Kardashians' new show on Hulu, we're getting a never-before-seen look back over the past year - SNL included. The show gave us some LOL-worthy insight into Kim's prep for her hosting gig, which included an opening monologue to kick off the show. Now, if you're like us, then, of course, you know that Kim went on to kill the opening segment, roasting her family into total oblivion. And while us audience members at home may have thought her jokes were just savage enough, it turns out that she had some even riskier ones that got scrapped in the lead-up to the show. And depending on how you feel about raunchy comedy, you can either thank or blame Amy Schumer for that. The seasoned stand-up queen met with Kim, and we got to take a look at the wisdom she passed on to Kardashian before the show.
Kim read out her draft of jokes, which included digs at her leaked tape with RJ, R. Kelly, and the Khloe and Tristan cheating scandal. "Oh, Khloé. You have the biggest heart. You have room for Tristan and all of his side pieces," Kim read out, to which Amy blurted back, "Oh s***!" While Kardashian had felt secure in her line-up of jokes, it's clear that Amy's reactions shook her off her feet. "The one thing I thought I had and was so confident in is my monologue, so I'm a little confused now," Kim later confessed. But, as it turned out, Amy's tough love served the SKIMS founder well, as she went on to get rave reviews for her opening monologue.
