It's been just over two years since we got a peek into the world of Navarro Cheer. And if you're like us, then you know that one season of the cheer documentary just wasn't enough. So we definitely consider ourselves lucky that a second installment of the hit Netflix documentary is on its way! And we've got all the need-to-know info about the highly anticipated release below.
Season two of Cheer is set to hit the international streaming service on January 12th, and fans can't wait to see what's in store for the new chapter. For those who followed the aftermath of season one's release, you'll remember that the group of college students were catapulted into A-lister star status overnight. From interviews on Ellen to guest appearances on Dancing with the Stars, the worlds' of these 20-something-year-olds went from regular cheerleaders to American celebrities. But the transition wasn't all good news.
The second season has promised to delve into the utter shock that swept across the country as one of the underdog stars of the documentary found himself in legal trouble following criminal charges. "I can't even, like, process it right now," Navarro's head coach Monica Aldama reflected during the season two trailer. While we got a taste of how fans reacted to the devastating news back in 2020, it will be the first time we get an in-depth look into how Monica and the teammates handled the total blow. 2020 was clearly a rocky season for many reasons, as we know that the 2020 Daytona competition - the whole reason behind the blood, sweat, and tears on the mat - was canceled due to the pandemic.
