Following the viral love triangle drama that took over the internet back in 2021, it seems like Olivia Rodrigo and Joshua Basset have left the past in the past. Because recently, during the premiere for the 3rd season of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, the exes were actually all smiles as they posed for the camera together! Here's what went down.

For those who may not know, Olivia's hit song Drivers License, which was released in January 2021, was rumored to be about Joshua after he was spotted hanging out with Sabrina Carpenter. While neither Olivia nor Joshua confirmed or denied their past relationship, fans were certain they dated. In fact, the actor, unfortunately, received a ton of hate after the heartbreak song went viral. "I would see TikToks with like 50 million views and 10 million likes saying, 'If I ever see that kid on the street, I'm going to f— kill him,'" he said. "It's hard to see that and then be living in New York and walking down the street."

People were surprised to see the two stars so friendly on the red carpet. They not only posed together for pictures, but they both were smiling and looked happy to be there. While we can't be 100% sure, based on what Joshua has revealed, this was the first time the two had seen each other since the love triangle drama blew up. "[Rodrigo] hasn't spoken to me since drivers license came out," Bassett told GQ. He even told the magazine that he had tried to reach out to Olivia numerous times. Yikes.

The two first met on the set of HSMTMTS back in 2019, and in the beginning, they got along great. They played Nini and Ricky (a.k.a. the two characters who get the part of Gabriella and Troy in the musical). Their chemistry appeared to transfer off-screen when rumors that they were dating started spreading. So when fans noticed the two stars started falling out, people were confused. Until, of course, the smash hit song explaining it all came out. But luckily, it seems like the drama is over. Don't forget to check out HSMTMTS season 3, which officially debuted July 27th on Disney+!
