Pack those bags - we've got a treasure hunt to finish: After a very eventful trip to the Bahamas, our favorite Pogues are set to pick right back up where they left off. When? And how? We know - you've got lots of questions. Hang on while we break down everything we know about Outer Banks' upcoming third season...

On Tuesday, December 7, the Netflix gods answered our prayers after first making the big announcement on Twitter. "This just in from Poguelandia..." the streaming giant teased. With the help of several familiar faces (*ahem, John B*), Netflix went on to reveal exactly what we'd been waiting to hear: "Outer Banks will be back for a third season!" they shared. Are you freaking out as much as we are?

Of course, though, there's still lots to be said. Which of our favorite Pogues will be returning to the small screen? Where will the map lead them this time around? How will they (*spoiler alert*) manage to make it back to shore in that unimpressive motorboat? While your guess is as good as ours (for now, at least), we've got a feeling this adventure is far from over.

But don't take our word for it: "Ever since we started, we always viewed it as something that was probably like a four-season, maybe five-season show - but definitely four seasons," OBX showrunner Jonas Pate teased of the series. "We've sort of long-arced it out pretty far. I'm just hoping that we get a chance to actually tell those stories."

So do we, Jonas. Though, we can't help but wonder what this means for Chase Stokes and Madelyn Cline. For those who forgot, the on and off-screen couple broke hearts everywhere this past October after announcing their sudden split. Will this translate to trouble in paradise for John B and Sarah? We certainly hope not. Stay tuned; there's clearly lots more to be learned here.

In the meantime, excuse us while we go refresh our memories with a much-needed Outer Banks marathon.
