Calling all wizards and witches - get ready to cry and laugh and then cry some more because the Harry Potter special is closer than ever. And lucky for us, Rupert Grint just sat down and gave an inside scoop into the emotional reunion. Here's everything you need to know.

Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts will be hitting our screens come January 1 - so it looks like 2022 will finally be the year things start looking up again. The HBO special stars the cast of the magical movie franchise as they take a nostalgic tour around their old set. And TBH, the trailer alone should have any HP fan with a heartbeat in tears.

And we're not the only ones who think so. Our real-life Hermoine, Harry, and Ron also got in their feelings as they reminisced on the past. "Those movies were our childhoods," Rupert Grint told ET in a recent interview. "We grew up on those sets, so it has incredible meaning to all of us."

He continued, "It's been ten years since we wrapped the last movie, and we've seen each other quite a bit in between that but not a great deal, so it was great to see them again and talk about it. I don't really talk or think about it a lot, so it was fun to remember." And yes - the actor also addressed the possibility of returning to the screen as our favorite ginger wizard and revealed just how attached he is to the role.

"There's been a lot talk of [playing Ron again] with everything going on, and I feel like I am that character," Rupert shared. "I think I had a very strange relationship with him at first, but I feel like there's a lot of me in there, so I'm quite protective of him." We're not crying; you're crying. So, does that mean the Servant star is in for a reboot or sequel?

He's certainly not ruling it out. "I don't really have a good reason to say no," Grint said. "I'm very proud to be a part of it." And now, it truly feels like the most wonderful time of the year (Hogwarts edition).
