The film was directed by Alek Keshishian, whose credits include the 1991 documentary Madonna: Truth or Dare. As described on the Apple TV+ website, “After years in the limelight, Selena Gomez achieves unimaginable stardom. But just as she reaches a new peak, an unexpected turn pulls her into darkness.” It will be an up-close and intimate film that covers the past six years of the makeup-brand founder’s life. From jumping into the water with her friends to tears streaming down her face in bed, the trailer offers a brief glimpse into what fans will see in the feature-length film.
The recently-turned-30 actress posted the trailer on her Instagram, captioning, “We don’t get along sometimes, and it gets hard to breathe… But I wouldn’t change my life.” Gomez has been in the spotlight her entire life! Her career began as a child star on Barney & Friends. Afterward, she starred in her own Disney Channel show, Wizards of Waverly Place. Since then, she has founded Rare Beauty, has sold more than 210 million singles, has a cooking show, and currently stars in the television series Only Murders in the Building with comedy legends Steve Martin and Martin Short.
