Your Guide to ‘Stranger Things’ Season 5
| LAST UPDATE 06/03/2022
Season four of Stranger Things was recently dropped on Netflix, and let's just say fans (including us) were beyond excited. In fact, it broke the record for the most-streamed English Netflix series on the opening weekend! And even though we're still binging the drama-filled series, fans are already eager to know that a fifth season is in the works. Here's the latest tea.
Luckily our curiosity can chill because the creators of the show, the Duffer brothers, have indeed confirmed that another season will be filmed. But sadly, it will be the final one. In a statement released back in February, the brothers revealed, "Seven years ago, we planned out the complete story arc for Stranger Things. At the time, we predicted the story would last four to five seasons. It proved too large to tell in four, but – as you'll soon see for yourselves – we are now hurtling toward our finale. Season 4 will be the penultimate season; season 5 will be the last."
Since the second part of season 4 has yet to be released, there is little to no information on what we can expect to see happen next time the kids in Stranger Things appear on our Netflix screens. But the Duffers have revealed that there will be "more exciting stories," which we didn't doubt for a second. "There are still many more exciting stories to tell within the world of Stranger Things; new mysteries, new adventures, new unexpected heroes."
The open letter to fans went on, "But first we hope that you stay with us as we finish this tale of a powerful girl named Eleven and her brave friends, of a broken police chief and a ferocious mom, of a small town called Hawkins and an alternate dimension known only as the Upside Down." While currently, there is no talk of a release date, we're going to assume it will be in late 2023 based on the timing of when the latest season was filmed and dropped. At least in the meantime, we can binge the latest season to make sure we're caught up for next time! Stay tuned for updates.
