On Friday, August 6, the Netflix gods blessed us with a long-awaited promo teasing what to expect from season 4. But one quick look at the action-packed clip (below), and we might just have more questions than answers. “See ya'll in the upside down,” the streaming platform teased of the upcoming season. Yep, are you as confused as we are?

One: what exactly is the upside down? But perhaps more importantly: when exactly will we be finding that one out? "To state the incredibly obvious, it’s been way, way, way, way too long," as producer Shawn Levy himself confessed of the show's hiatus. But while the upcoming installment will only be returning next year, season 4 will certainly be worth the wait.

“It’s visually and narratively very ambitious – much more ambitious than the prior three seasons,” Levy teased. In other words, if you thought evil Demogorgons or messy love triangles were the worst thing to ever plague Hawkins? Try again. We’ll be introduced to lots of new storylines and characters as our latest adventure takes us all the way to Russia (*ahem Hopper).

"It’s my favorite season in the sense that... we get to reinvent him in a sense," David Harbour (a.k.a Jim Hopper) confessed after leaving us on a cliffhanger during that *shocking* season 3 finale. "We get to explore a lot of threads of his life that have merely been hinted at." Don't worry, if you still haven't caught the last season, we'll keep this page spoiler-free. What we will say, though, is that you really need to do some catching up before the next season graces our Netflix screens.

In the meantime, be sure to stay tuned - and of course, don't forget to stock up on those Eggos.
