The Weeknd and Calvin harris have been hyping up their new music video, Over Now, for quite some time, and on August 28th, it was finally released. This epic track is their first collaboration, and we can't stop listening to it!
With the coronavirus restrictions making it a little more challenging to produce new music, the artists had to get even more creative than usual to make this work. So, The Weeknd decided to use animation to portray the song's message in a unique way.
The video shows The Weeknd walking through a psychedelic world and avoiding his ex after experiencing a breakup. The unique animation gives us the idea that we're getting a glimpse into his thought process.
The video for Over Now was directed by Emil Nava, a creative collaborator that's done many projects with Harris. He used computer-generated imagery to bring The Weeknd's journey to life.
Over Now is Calvin's first new production since 2017, when he released his last full-length album, Funk Wav Bounces Volume 1. In 2018, he collaborated with Normani and then created three expended play tracks under Love Generator this year.
The Weeknd released another collab with Juice WRLD this summer but was extremely dedicated and excited to work with Harris. Even during a global pandemic, The Weeknd and Calvin Harris found a way to create an epic music video, and we think you're going to love it!
