Go ahead and grab those bikinis because it appears we're officially headed back to the beach! Well, sort of. Netflix's Too Hot to Handle is officially renewed for more fun, and if you're anything like us? You've got lots of questions. Lucky for you, we've got everything you need to know.
“The secret is out — we’re thrilled to bring back ‘Too Hot to Handle’ for two new seasons in a tropical paradise,” Brandon Riegg, Netflix’s VP of unscripted / documentary series, revealed to Variety. That's right, you may want to pack a bigger bag, considering we'll be hanging around a while.
Are you excited as we are? We should warn you, this time around, things will be looking a bit different. For starters, our single islanders won't be searching (well, attempting to) for love on the dreamy shores of Mexico. Instead? They'll be headed to Turks and Caicos, under strict Covid safety regulations.
But that's not the only precaution the production has taken. According to Deadline, the entire filming ordeal had to be done under false pretenses. Yep, as castmates made their way to Turks and Caicos, they were ready for their debut in a completely different - and fake - series: Parties in Paradise; “Right up to the point that cameras were rolling.”
Why? Considering just about everyone's kept up with Too Hot To Handle, the production team wanted to ensure the latest singles weren't aware what they'd signed up for. Of course, once the iPhones were taken away and a portable robot began following them around, something tells us they caught on rather fast.
As for when we can expect to catch up with our favorite islanders? Unfortunately, unlike Lana, we don't know everything going on behind those villa doors. In other words, there's a good chance we'll be waiting a while. What we do know? It'll definitely be well worth the wait...
