As designers begin to roll out their fall/winter 2023 collections, we can't help but wonder what is in store for the following season, specifically what are the upcoming shoe trends. With Paris Haute Couture Week coming to a close, we saw a whole lot of glam in all different shapes, colors, and sizes, but we still are always wondering about the shoes. So let's take a closer look at what designers have in store for us for the upcoming seasons.

We've seen a wide range of styles this season so far, but one of our favorites has been pointed heels. Power dressing is in full swing this fall, so of course, designers had to break out the pointy heel to match that tailored suit set. Designers from Miu Miu to Prada have offered us the pointed heel with small detailing like the sleek metallic buckle or double slingback strap to take a look from day to night.

Designers have made it clear that hot red shoes are a must-have for the fall/winter season. No matter how you wear it, whether it's in a heel, flat, or boot form, red is the color of this season (and probably every season after that). If you're feeling like elevating your red shoe with a little something more, fall is all about the "something extra" shoe. Designers are adding extra elements to their shoes in ways we've never seen. Bottega Veneta is giving us shoes with layers of paillettes, while Prada is dishing out 3D florals. Thanks to the rosette trend, designers are finding every which way to incorporate the design into their collections. Speaking of something extra, designers from Ugg to Gucci and Jeffrey Campbell are pushing the fuzzy shoe, so don't sleep on those!

Now, we would be remiss to discuss fall and winter shoe trends without mentioning the season's staple, boots. This year we're seeing a return on the sock boot, which can be found anywhere from Zara to The Row to Stuart Weitzman and Chanel. And last but certainly not least, we have the wader boots. Unlike the sock boot, these over-the-knee boots give a more slouchy style that can be paired with dresses or skirts. Time to get to shopping!
