Fashion: an industry that never sleeps and is constantly on the go. And for aspiring fashionistas hoping to make a lasting imprint in the ever-changing field, the task isn't an easy one. But if there's anyone who has left her mark, it's Yohana Lebasi. Here's a look inside her iconic sense of style and rising career...
For Yohana, the dream of a life in fashion started young. "I was very emotionally invested in fashion in my younger years," she told Vogue. "I won the best-dressed superlative in middle school through sheer dedication to dress," explaining that she curated a whole year's worth of fit checks on her digital camera. "Thinking about it now, I've always had a stylist's mind!" And naturally, she continued this passion until it landed her a first gig in the industry. "My first job was a studio manager for Mel Ottenberg, and my first day on the job was the day of Rihanna's Swarovski CFDA award's dress moment," the fashionista gushed. From there, Lebasi built her name as the stylist to have, scoring gigs with Vogue and styling some of the biggest names in Hollywood, like Timothée Chalamet!
Her stylings have also landed in established museums like the National Gallery in London, England, in addition to film projects like The Prelude. So, how does Yohana manage to stay so relevant in this cut-throat industry? It's her commitment to being unapologetically true to herself. Where others may turn up their nose, Lebasi has turned unconventional shopping techniques into a treasure hunt. For example, she almost exclusively shops on eBay, bidding on vintage pieces that have her looking like she just walked out of an episode of Sex & the City. It's safe to say that it's worked for her - as we'd be hard-pressed to find someone on her level when it comes to unique styling!
