Spring is right around the corner, and with it comes warmer weather and new fashion trends. From bright colors to oversized shirts, here are the latest trend forecasts from former Nordstorm personal stylist Danielle Gilbert, and fashion editor and consultant Lauren Caruso.
We've known that Y2K fashion has made its way back into our hearts, and it looks like it's here to stay. Halter tops, low-rise jeans, belly chains, mini skirts, and more! Caruso predicted, "There's definitely some crossover between hyper-minis and the year 2002, but the major early-aughts trends aren't just back — they're taking over." And honestly, we're not complaining, especially since this trend has room for creativity and endless options. But the early 00' isn't the only decade making a comeback. Gilbert anticipated that we'll be seeing our fav influencers and models rocking the 70's style. More specifically, flared jeans, since we all know gen-z veto-ed skinny jeans. The stylist said to GMA, "Think the 70's vibe, but updated with perfectly placed pockets." She recommended, "Pair with a tee and a blazer for a polished look or a feminine blouse. You can even add a tank and woven lightweight cardigan or vest to keep that '70s inspired look."
When we think of the springtime, our minds automatically wander off to sunshine, flowers, and bright colors. And this season, the color everyone will be obsessing over is green. Make a statement with a green blazer to elevate any fit, or go for a simpler look and add a fun pop of color with a green bag. Either way, you'll be chic and definitely be up to date with the trends. Another accessory we've been seeing everyone rock on social media is platform pumps. From designers like Versace to Bottega Veneta parading the shoes on their runways to celebs like Ariana Grande and Lady Gage, these chunky heels have been everywhere! Make sure you grab a pair before Spring officially starts.
Last up on the trend forecast, we have oversized button-ups shirts! Perfect to wear as a cover-up for the beach or dress it up to grab dinner with the girls. Gilbert shared, "Think preppy Tommy Hilfiger back in the day, but now oversized and chic," she continued, "From solids to stripes, this is a no-brainer trend to wear for spring. This trend is something I'm seeing all over Pinterest." Stay tuned for upcoming fashion news.
