Another day, another fashion trend we definitely didn't see coming. Today, we're here to announce that wearing your underwear, or your boyfriend's underwear more specifically, out in public is now officially fashionable. After boxer shorts made waves on the Spring/Summer 2022 Fashion Runways, it's officially time for us to incorporate the look into our summer street style essentials. Don't worry, it's not as scary as it sounds!
When designers such as Dior, Balenciaga, Tom Ford, and Valentino had their models walk down the runway in what is essentially men's underwear, it was most certainly a surprise. But, the fashion industry has its rules, and if the runway says it's cool, there's no arguing with that. Right? Within days of its debut, supermodels and 'it' girls were rocking the traditional loungewear on the streets of Los Angeles, demonstrating that it's the new, effortless way to handle the heat in style. Take Kendall Jenner, for example...
The highest-paid supermodel in the world took 'off-duty' fashion to a whole new level with her boxer shorts outfit. Pairing a pair of yellow boxer shorts with a light grey SKIMS tank top and light blue oversized shirt, she had the effortless look down to a T. While we'd love to tell you just to copy this outfit for yourselves, us regular folks may need to put in a little more effort to make the look work.

Fashion stylists explain that the trick with these shorts is to dress them up with other polished accessories or clothing. For example, you could pair the boxers with some kitten heels or a leather bag like Kendall did. Shirts can also work, as long as they are not creased! Various TikTokers can be seen styling the underwear with blazers and loafers for a more put-together look. Others are taking a page out of Kendall's book by dressing them with sneakers and hoodies and going all out with the casual athleisurewear look. Whatever style you choose, it's guaranteed to be an airy and breezy way to get around this summer! You are welcome!
